Evaluate the role, your needs and priorities.  How does the structure of the role need to change to help build your business? What qualifications and soft skills does the candidate need to excel in this enhanced role? What questions can you ask them to determine if they are the right one? 

You should be able to quickly see what excites them about your company, their passion for the role, how their skills relate to the opportunity and what makes them a great addition to the team. That's it - their resume will provide all the other details.

This is a great time of the year to acknowledge and thank the people who contributed to your business over the past year as a mentor, supplier, employee, client and strategic alliance. Add a personal touch to your wishes by letting them know what you enjoyed about the relationship and what excites you about working with them in 2016.

During the interview process, take the time to understand a candidates career goals. Do their career aspirations align with the job opening? Does the job match with their unique abilities? Will they be excited about the work? If the answer is no to any of these questions then guide them back in the direction they are headed.
 

Handle them with great confidence and an understanding that everything will be okay. Then determine what needs to happen next to turn a negative into a positive.

Good is good. But why stick with good when you are excellent. When you are excellent in everything that you do - when you give it your all - it's important for you to know this and to feel a great sense of inner pride.
