Focus efforts on
sales leads who are within your target market and that have a business need for
your product. Demonstrate responsiveness to others without spending a lot of
time on them.
Learning a new way
of doing something, a new theory is exciting as you want to put it into action
right away. At first it may not feel natural because you are developing a new
skill and you are focused on getting the theory right. You may want to start by
taking smaller steps by incorporating some theory and more of you and your
personality.
Time
is precious, every minute counts. You need to get better at only saying Yes to
requests that closely align with the priorities of your business, those that
you can truly see the benefit in, and that are strategic. There are lots of
nice-to-dos that will take up your time - choose wisely.
Doing work is like
creating art. It requires several takes to produce something that you are proud
of. Only press send when you feel it's of high quality and meets or even
exceeds your standards.
When you go above
and beyond at no cost it becomes an expectation. That expectation immobilizes
people from doing the work that they signed up to do. It makes them reliant on
you. When you are feeling that everything is lying on your shoulders - that's when
you have to push back.
Celebrating
mentoring for the month of January is a great way to kick start the year and
your development plans. It feels like we are just getting started
